Cookies n’ Creme Cookies

I take cookies very seriously, and these Cookies n’ Creme Cookies are no exception! I have been making different variations of these cookies ever since I started baking, and I am so excited to finally get the recipe out to you.

These cookies n’ creme cookies were specifically was inspire by the newest, limited edition flavour of Oreo cookies, which was partnership between Selena Gomez and Oreo for a cinnamon chocolate creme Oreo. This limited edition flavour kind of tastes like sweet, cinnamon hot chocolate, and this cream cheese based cookie dough favours those flavours incredibly!

Imagine a buttery, soft cookie base loaded with white chocolate chips and crushed cinnamon chocolate Oreo pieces. These cookies are like biting into cookies and cream ice cream, but in warm, gooey cookie form, because who doesn’t love cookies?! The chunks of Oreo throughout these cookies create the perfect contrast between the smooth sweetness of the dough and the iconic crunch of the cookie pieces. Every bite is a perfect mix of rich vanilla, chocolate, and cream and unfortunately, they will keep you coming back for more!!

The Recipe

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 21 Cinnamon & Chocolate Creme Oreos, cut up and crushed
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

You will see from the list above that these cookies n’ creme cookies are really quite simple, just a collection of your basic pantry staples with the addition of the Oreos and cream cheese, which makes these cookies special!

Alternatives

You might have guessed it, but these cookies n’ creme cookies will be just as delicious with any type of Oreos! I really love golden Oreos or birthday cake Oreos in these cookies if you can’t get your hands on the limited edition ones I used for this recipe.

These Cookies n’ Creme Cookies are also incredibly versatile beyond the type of Oreo used. Make them jumbo-sized for a bakery-style feel or bite-sized for snacking, just depending on the size of the cookie scoop you use. Add extra chunks of Oreos on top before baking if you want to show off, or even flaky salt if that is your vibe. Want them extra gooey? Bake a minute less. Crispier? Flatten them before baking and leave them in a minute longer. You’re in full control and I know you will come up with a cookie you and your family are utterly obsessed with!

Instructions

  1. The first step for this recipe is to gather all of your needed ingredients and start pre heating your oven!
  2. I recommend starting by cutting up your Oreo cookies. You can do this on a large cutting board and using a knife or by adding them to a large freezer bag and smashing them up with the bottom of a plastic jar. Either one works!
  3. In a stand mixer or glass bowl, add your room temperature butter, both sugars, eggs and cream cheese. I prefer to use a stand mixer for these cookies as a hand mixer can get tricky with all of the oreo chunks, but either will work! Combine the wet ingredients by mixing them well until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Next, combine your dry ingredients in a seperate bowl and give it a quick whisk with a fork before gradually adding it to the wet mixture. Again, use your mixer to combine the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Once the wet and dry ingredients are combined, it is time to add in the goodies! Add your chopped Oreo cookies and white chocolate chips in to the cookie dough and combine thoroughly, making sure you scrape down the sides of the bowl so that all of the cookie dough gets bits of Oreo goodness in it!
  6. Finally, it is time to bake! Using a 2 tbsp sized cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough on to a parchment lined baking, these cookies do not spread a ton but I would not add more than 9 cookies on to a regular sized parchment sheet for ease. Flatten the cookies down ever so slightly and then bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. This recipe makes about 18-22 cookies.

Storing the Cookies

I am going to go out on a limb here and warn you that while you may have intentions of freezing these cookies the day after baking, they honestly probably won’t last that long without getting devoured! Like most of my cookie recipes though, these cookies will freeze no problem! You canf reeze them before or after baking them, either will be successful. But, honestly, do yourself, and your household, a favour, and just leave the whole batch out on the counter to enjoy, because I know they will be!

Why I Love These Cookies

I love these cookies n’ creme cookies because when I want cookies, I want them now!!
These cookies are unbelievably simple to make; you don’t need any fancy tools, techniques or painfully long chill times. I don’t have time for that either if I am being honest! This recipe is just a quick dough you can whip up in just one bowql, because I am just like you, I hate doing dishes! From start to finish, you’re looking at about 30 minutes total for these cookies n’ creme cookies, they are beginner friendly, completely foolproof and sure to wow anyone you share them with!
